I’m sorry to hear about your step mother. I do know that it is not an audit. I spoke with TurboTax live agent since I’m paying for that service and he assured me that they are not auditing and will not for this year until at least next year and upto 3 years from now. He even reviewed my return and said he did not see anything unusual. But I have lived in the same state and had the same address for over half my life. He said sometimes it takes longer to process if things seem to change such as address or a huge increase of income just for security purposes.
