Get your taxes done using TurboTax
If the income you received from any one individual or company was $600 or greater, you should receive a form 1099-Misc from that individual or company. The total of all the forms 1099-Misc that you receive should be entered on Schedule C of form 1040.
Even if you don't receive a form 1099-Misc for the income you received, you'll want to include all the income you know you received on schedule C of form 1040. Schedule C is also where you'll record all your expenses related to that childcare income.
Use Schedule C to report income or loss from a business you operated or a profession you practiced as a sole proprietor. An activity qualifies as a business if:
- your primary purpose for engaging in the activity is for income or profit, and
- you are involved in the activity with continuity and regularity.
I have also included a screenshot of where to begin in Turbo Tax.
