You will have to tell the software that you want to file married filing jointly. Here is how to file jointly:
- Open your return and click the Personal Info tab.
- Click Edit next to Marital Status on the Personal Info Summary screen.
- Continue to the Were You Married? screen and, answer YES to Do you want to file this return together with your spouse? Then continue and follow any onscreen instructions.
