UPDATED FOR TAX YEAR 2019
To enter a 6-digit Identify Protection PIN for you, your spouse, or dependent please follow these steps:
- Click on Federal > Other Tax Situations. In the Other Return Info section, click on the Start/Update box next to Identity Protection PIN.
- On the next screen, mark the button Yes, at least one of us got an IP PIN, and click Continue.
- On the next screen, Review your Identity Protection PIN info, click the Add box next to the family member’s name.
- Enter the IP PIN on the next screen. Enter an IP PIN only for the people who have them.
- Click Continue and proceed with filing the return.
