If your children are going to be under 16, and you have less than $400,000 of income, you will receive $2,000 of credit for each child. This may allow each of you to take another allowance or so, but I would go much more than that. The 24,000 swing calculated at the Married Rate could easily mean more than $5,000 of tax underwithheld if you are in the 22% tax bracket, which would be right around 100,000 of gross income before deductions.
