I've just made an online quarterly estimated payment for my 1099-MISC income. Do I need to file a 1040-ES in addition to my payment, or am I done for this quarter?
I made my payment via one of the official debit card payment methods on the IRS website. The 1040-ES states, "File only if you are making a payment of estimated tax by check or money order." It appears therefore that, having paid online, I no longer need to file the 1040-ES. However, it all seemed just a bit too quick and simple of a process.
So my question is, is there anything else I should do for this quarter? Or is making quarterly estimated payments online really that simple?
Thank you!
