If you paid alimony, you'll need to file Form 1040 (not 1040A or 1040EZ). TurboTax Deluxe Online (or higher) or a TurboTax CD/Download software product supports this form.
To enter the alimony (spousal support) that you paid:
- Continue working on your return in TurboTax Online. (If your return isn't open, you'll need to sign in and click Take me to my return.)
- Click My Account (top right of your screen).
- Select Tools.
- In the pop-up window, select Topic Search.
- In the search bar, type alimony.
- In the results box, highlight alimony or spousal support paid, then click GO.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to enter your alimony payments.
Note: If you received alimony and want to work online, you will also need to use TurboTax Deluxe Online (or higher).
