Get your taxes done using TurboTax
@ goodoldsguy
Do you mean you can't find the IP PIN you have, or do you mean you can't find where to enter it? This first comment will tell you how to retrieve it if you don't have it. I'll follow this comment with another comment that tells where to enter it.
If the IRS requires you to use a 6-digit Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) due to tax-related ID theft in the past, you may have received a CP01a letter in late December or January with your new IP PIN to be used for calendar year 2026, including the filing of your 2025 return. If you didn't receive a letter or lost it, the IRS page linked below will tell you how to retrieve the IP PIN. The fastest ways is to retrieve it from your online IRS account if you have one, or can establish one.
Or did you voluntarily opt-in to the IP PIN program previously? People who voluntarily opt-in to the program don't usually get a letter but can retrieve their IP PIN each year from their online IRS account.
