I had interpreted your original post as saying that you were somehow not covered at all for August through December, not even by your wife's HDHP, or you had disqualifying coverage for those months. If you were covered by your wife's HDHP for those months and had no disqualifying coverage, yes, you would indicate that you were covered for those months.
