I'm having the same problem e-filing a 2024 amended return with TurboTax Deluxe 2024 Desktop. At the final transmit step, it tells me that the Intuit Electronic Filing system is closed for the 2024 Personal Income Tax filing season. I called TurboTax customer service and spoke to an agent, then a supervisor, and I was told that they are no longer accepting e-filings for the 2024 1040-X. I asked for an explanation as to why they aren't accepted, but supervisor said she didn't know. As the previous poster said, this is really frustrating and disappointing.
The TurboTax support info says:
Generally, you can e-file your amended 2025, 2024, or 2023 federal return via TurboTax if your original return was also e-filed in TurboTax. However, there's a chance your return can't be e-filed based on your unique situation. If this happens, you'll need to print and mail your tax return.
This rejection doesn't appear to be due a unique situation; rather, it seems TT has stopped supporting this altogether.
