Get your taxes done using TurboTax
This is the wrong forum to request a callback. However, this is the right forum to guide you on how to complete your return, which may be quicker than waiting for a phone call. We can message back and forth in this thread to assist you in completing your return without preparing the return for you. Let's get you started, and then you can ask questions as you go along.
We will start by having you enter your business profile and then progress by reporting your 1099. This will get your feet wet and get you ready for the next set of questions.
If working in TurboTax Online
- Select Wages & Income.
- Scroll to Self‑Employment.
- Select Start or Edit/Add next to Self‑employment income and expenses (Schedule C).
2. Create or confirm your business profile
TurboTax will ask:
- What type of work you do
- Your business name (optional)
- Business code
- Then it will ask a series of questions to complete your profile. there is one question that asks if you issued any 1099's to anyone. This is usually a no-answer unless you did issue a 1099.
3. Once the business profile is done, you should have a summary page for your business. Look for Business Income or income. Select it and you will see the various types of 1099's. Choose the appropriate category for the 1099 and start reporting your income.
If you purchased the Home and Business version the menu path has a slight variation except go to Business>Business income and Expenses to begin the entry.
Reach back if you have additional questions while waiting for that phone call. As i said, this may work out better for you.
