Update - I finally got my MN return filed. I don't know why it worked this time because I have been running in Administrative mode, but this time it sent me an update for the MN return.
One other thing I tried was to install the state return from the Online tab. I didn't delete the state, i just told it to install it. It did a couple of things and then just went away. I signed out and then signed in as admin and this time it had the update and had no problem with e-file.
