Federal Amount due on 1040-SR different than amount shown on filing instructions
The amount due on tax year 2025 1040-SR line 37 "The amount you owe" is shown to be $796. Also the "Federal Tax Due" window in Turbotax shows $796.
But on the page, "Electronic Filing Instructions for your 2025 Federal Tax Return":
"Your federal tax return (Form 1040-SR) shows a balance due of $793.00.
Your return shows you have elected to pay your balance due of $793.00
by Direct Debit using the following information:
Amount Withdrawn: $793.00"
I've efiled and scheduled a payment to be made for $793 in April of 2026. So now my scheduled payment is $3 short. I haven't found a way to modify the scheduled payment amount.
Why and how could the two amounts be different? I've rebooted and restarted several times, but the amounts remain to be different.
Thanks!
