I suggest you mail the tax return. You will not be able to E-file as long as the IRS thinks someone else has claimed your son.
- The IRS will send both you and the other party a tax letter requesting additional information.
- Respond promptly.
- There may be a case manager's phone number in the top right side of the form.
- Follow the directions on the form.
- This will probably take a while to work out.
