That address verification pop -up is simply a security check. It's there to confirm that your credit card billing address matches the address listed on your return.
To fix this:
- Sign in to your Intuit account, go to My Info section, edit your mailing address to exactly match your credit card billing address, and continue.
- Then go back to the File section and attempt the payment again.
- After payment is accepted, you can go back to My Info to change your address back to the original if necessary.
Also, you have the option to change your payment method. But, if your return has already been filed and accepted by the IRS, you will not be able to change it.
If your e-filed return was rejected, you can update your payment method in your Intuit account, go to the Payment Methods section, and select Edit to update card details.
