Get your taxes done using TurboTax
As DoninGA mentions above, the $25 fee in TurboTax for your state tax return is the standard fee to electronically file (e-file) your state return. It is separate from the cost of the software that prepares the forms.
While TurboTax allows you to prepare your state return for free (if included with your edition), a fee applies to electronically file it.
You do not have to pay this fee if you want to file your state return by mail. You can get filing instructions for your particular state by visiting your state's Department of Revenue. How do I contact my state Department of Revenue?
If you select to file by mail, TurboTax will generate filing instructions for you that include the mailing addresses and required forms.
You can review your fees in TurboTax Online as follows:
- Go to the left side on your screen under "Tax Home"
- Go to "Tax Tools" then "Tools"
- The "Tools Center" Box will pop up
- Click on "My Fees" to see a summary of your Turbo Tax Fees.
Please return to Community if you have any additional information or questions and we would be happy to help.
