Get your taxes done using TurboTax

Closing this chapter of my life, I posted the following as feedback requested by TT after finally getting the tax experts to help with my issue and submitted.  Estimated wasting probably a good 8 hours of my life on investigating the ins and outs of this problem Intuit created for its users over the last 3 weeks.   I suggest you all do the same -- if you're able to get to the finish line this year.   While in the end I expected to move to HR Block this year, the numbers came out different and I was not about to spend more time figuring out why...

Worth noting I STILL have not received a notification via text, email or app that the Amort & Depreciation section was released as the messaging that created this whole slew of community boards stated.    Good job, Intuit - you're a shining example of what not to do to maintain customer loyalty.

Anyway, best of luck to all of you.

___________
POST-RETURN FEEDBACK

This year, experience around Amortization and Depreciation on your site was ABYSMAL.

Customers with rental properties ran into this message from late January: "Depreciation and Amortization will be ready by February, but likely sooner" and offered to let the user know when it was released.

The main rub is the "by February" wording that had not changed since Feb 1 came and went for over 3 weeks - without any updates proactively to its users. Even when it WAS released we received no notifications - leaving your customers to figure it out on their own.

AWFUL CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE.

Additionally, for all of us who have repeatedly tried to edit the data for depreciation and amortization and keep getting this vague message - clearly a flag that we have entries for this purpose that need to be checked - yet again, TurboTax failed - allowing me to submit my taxes before I remembered this was not yet done - but Intuit stated "looks good to submit!!!" FAIL

If you search the Community boards on your site for "depreciation" you'll find dozens of threads with hundreds of annoyed return customers. I personally have been disgruntled by your company's lack of communication on what the background of the delay was going beyond checking a box and ownership of this obvious issue and detachment between support and the forms/experience.

This was enough for me to summarize here my frustration, and likely enough to download all my worksheets and return data for 2025 and use HRBlock in 2026"
