To ensure that you get the military discount, review your entries in the personal info section.
- Open TurboTax and select My Info from the menu
- Select the dropdown by Your info and select Edit/Revisit
- Select Edit under Personal profile and check your entries
- Scroll through the screens until you get to Let's check for some other situations
- Make sure that you have shown your military status as of December 31, 2025? and answered all of the questions
- Make sure that you entered your highest military pay grade in 2025
- Enter an answer for combat zone or hazardous duty area you served in during 2025
- Select a state and select Assignment detail.
When you enter your military W-2, TurboTax will automatically apply the discount when you file.
