It's faster for us to prepare returns jointly. I do most of the financials (Form 1099s for dividends and stock sales), and my wife homes in on rental properties and their expenses. (We just have to ensure that both of us are not working on the same tax return at the same time!) My thought is that TT has grown so rapidly that it is difficult to maintain and train a support group that can answer the myriad of questions posed. The request is a simple one, and our Intuit accounts have all of the information that is needed to fulfill the requests. I suppose it is the luck of the draw on whom you get when you call in. Although there is a system in place for requesting refunds, there is no acknowledgement of one's request, so one is left in the dark as to whether the request is being processed or not.
