The difference seems to be going back to that $2800 addback that you initially questioned. This was corrected in the update.
I am not certain why it changed, but it does appear to be more logical now, at least!
There is finally some legislation that has been introduced to couple with the OBBBA provisions, so I'd still advise waiting a little while to file your South Carolina return since you would benefit from the change if this legislation is passed.
