Get your taxes done using TurboTax
A 1099-NEC is a direct result of receiving income for your services. It does require you to prepare a business (Schedule C) on your tax return.
Instead of entering your 1099-NEC form, which is not a requirement, you can enter the income directly on Schedule C. Keep the form in your tax files.
- In TurboTax Online/Mobile:
- Sign into your tax return > Select Search (upper right) > type Schedule C > click the 'Jump to... link'
- Select 'Other Income' and enter the amount from your 1099-NEC and, if applicable, any other income you may have received.
- In TurboTax Desktop:
- Sign into your tax return > Select Search (upper right) > type Schedule C > click the Jump to.. link
This will allow you to enter your income and any expenses that directly related to your ability to earn it.
