Get your taxes done using TurboTax
You don't have to import your 1099's; there are multiple options to enter the second document into TurboTax, which can be found by navigating these steps:
- Select Tax Home
- Select Federal
- Select Wages & Income
- Select Investments and savings (Jump-to link)
- Select (+) Add investments
- On the screen headed Save time and connect your financial accounts, select the button Enter a different way
- The next screen, How do you want to add your docs? will give you options for:
- Upload - select a file from your PC, such as a scanned file of the 1099 or downloaded PDF, for TurboTax to pull in the data
- Snap a photo - requires a smartphone; take a picture of the form(s) to automatically populate the data without a scanner
- Import - to try this option again, or pull in additional investments
- Type it in myself (underneath, next to Continue) - to type in the 1099 data manually
