If you feel that way, you might be better off using H&R Block's desktop software since Block doesn't require you to set up any type of account with them (unlike TurboTax where you need an Intuit account). The software is also much, much less expensive than the TurboTax equivalents. I think the interface is more clunky than TurboTax but it's about the same otherwise.

 

Re the online variants, I believe H&R Block requires one email per account and return (just like TurboTax) BUT TaxAct allows users to prepare up to 5 returns (online) with only one email address (each return still incurs a separate charge). This is just for comparative purposes.
