To upload a self-prepared 2024 tax return into TurboTax:
- Sign in to TurboTax Online.
- Start a new tax return.
- In the left menu, select Tax Tools > Tools.
- Choose "Transfer last year's TurboTax return from your computer."
- Select your saved 2024 tax return file (.tax2024) from your computer.
- Follow the prompts to upload and transfer your information.
- Once uploaded, you can continue editing or filing your return in TurboTax.
Make sure your file is saved in the correct TurboTax format (.tax2024).
