You didn't need to check that box because you are filing an original return AND you are a court-appointed personal representative (that box is only checked if you are filing Form 1040-X, an amended return, or Form 843).
In your case, Form 1310 does not need to be filed; only the original return along with your certificate (or other documentation) of your court appointment,
