Thanks for the reply. For example, regarding my spouse's W2. Box 3 and 5 are the same. Box 1 is proportionally reduced by the amount of the traditional 401k (box 12b D). Since box 1 was also not reduced by the employee contribution of the HSA I know that the employee contribution was post tax and I should be able to deduct it. Agree?
