I'm employee of one company,worked in 5 states,W2 provided by employer has several tables with all states, what value should I write at:state portion of income question?

The expert who assisted me said to write zero, right in front of the line Wages and Salaries in front of the Federal Total, but I did make money on the state,it makes noise to my head to write zero
