It was my wife's parents home. Her dad passed and she, and her three siblings, sold the home. I did check "Other" in investment type. Code "F" is in the Cap Asset Sales worksheet and on Form 8949 but code "E" is in column (f) under "code(s)" But looking at it again, I believe that code "E" has to do with the "adjustment type" and not the asset sale type.
Update: Actually, IRS instructions say to enter net proceeds in column d and leave (f) and (g) blank.
"If you didn't receive a Form 1099-B, Form 1099-DA, or Form 1099-S (or substitute statement) for a transaction, enter in column (d) the net proceeds. The net proceeds equal the gross proceeds minus any selling expenses (such as broker’s fees, commissions, and state and local transfer taxes"
