Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Have you received a rejection on your Illinois (IL-1040) state tax return?
If so, this rejection code generally involves verification issues regarding taxpayer data, such as:
- the Prior Year Adjusted Gross Income (AGI),
- IL-PIN, or
- Driver's License/State ID not matching the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR) records.
How to Resolve This Rejection
To fix this issue and successfully e-file, please follow these steps:
- Verify Prior Year AGI: Ensure you have entered the exact AGI from your previous year's Illinois return. If you filed late or amended your return, the IDOR might not have updated their records, and you may need to enter $0 as the prior year AGI.
- Verify Drivers License/State ID information.
If the error persists and is due to a form that cannot be e-filed, you may be forced to file by mail.
