Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Thanks for using Turbotax,
The Employer Identification Number (EIN), also known as the Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) or the Federal Tax Identification Number,
is a unique nine-digit number assigned by the Internal Revenue Service
(IRS) to business entities operating in the United States for the
purposes of identification.
Your EIN will be a 9-digit number with a dash after the second digit
(example: 00-0000000). Keep in mind, an EIN is not the same thing as an
Employer’s State ID number or your Employee Number.
How to obtain EIN:
- The link below lists the companies partnered with Turbo Tax where you can download your W2 directly.
- If it a public company, you can try these links:

There is a possibility that you may have inputted a space. Delete the entire EIN number and reinput.
If you do not have a business or your business is not registered with your state, you should use your social security number.
