My husband and I just completed our 2025 taxes but we didn’t receive the 30% discount we were promised by a Turbo Tax representative yesterday. He told us the discount will automatically apply the next day. So we waited until morning to send the taxes but no discount was applied. We originally called to dispute the $79 Expert Max because we never signed up for it. We just wanted the $40 option and to get the fee be deducted from our return. But a $119 was deducted. We called Turbo Tax support right away and after the conversation, we thought it was resolved somewhat. He mentioned that he could not take off the $79 Expert Max charge but he could give us the 30% off. When we finished with our taxes we didn’t see any discount. We had such a great experience with Turbo tax for many years but this year it was very disappointing. We did a simple tax return with one W-2 and we only clicked on the regular $40 filing option with using our return to debit the turbo tax fee. But we paid for an Expert Max $79 (total of $119) with no help or assistance (because it was not needed) and we didn’t even click for the additional option.
