I don't know why TurboTax doesn't like email for Support, but usually things boil down to a cost benefit. So I presume they prefer users have to resort to this community forum, or to phone TurboTax Support.
Word is that the 1099-R capability became available this afternoon (1/21) for folks using Online TurboTax. So that's a good sign. Online updates are usually released right away. However, desktop updates can lag, since they may be bundled with other updates. That Retirement Income update "may" occur overnight tonight in the usual weekly update, or if not, then possibly Thursday or Friday.
