Right! Rufus has been the standby for years. And, while I did do one box with Windows 11, specifically and only for Turbo Tax, I am still extremely concerned for my privacy.
I do not trust Microsoft any further than I can throw their server farm.
There have been several 'flaws', which I believe have been intentionally planted in the code.
They are slowly closing every avenue for creating a local account, there is no way anyone, even an IT expert, can keep track of all that Microsoft is doing behind the scenes during an update.
What happens if they turn off your local account and turn on Bit Locker without your knowledge. Or what, that has actually happened to a user, logged in with the Microsoft account to get updates and during the update Bit Locker got turned on. He did not command it and he did have a key! He lost 3TB! Irrevocably lost.
All because Microsoft thinks they know better!
