I purchased TurboTax 2024 Basic from Sam's. Installed it on my old laptop, registered it and figured my taxes based on married/joint. Did not file it online because I wanted to calculate married/filing separate, but I was tired. Next day, booted up my laptop but it crashed. Lost EVERYTHING on my laptop. Bought a new laptop & installed TurboTax. logged in and tried to enter license code but was told it's registered to another user.
The weird thing is in 2024 all 3 of my employers company name is shown (when logged into Intuit/TurboTax online) - I did not work for them in 2023. How can this new employer information be logged in Intuit history but it won't accept software license code. I did not get to use TurboTax to file my return.
How can I use the license code on this new laptop without having to purchase new software? I paid $45 for it at Sam's. Now it's $79.99 everywhere else.
