Good question. It seems like Intuit should provide 3rd party providers with an API they can use to seamlessly upload their data to Turbo Tax. They should also provide users who don't use a 3rd party program, but keep track of this info themselves in a spreadsheet (Excel, Google Sheets, etc.) with a format they can use to upload their data. Hopefully Intuit will realize just how much pain they are causing their users and have enough empathy to try to help us out.
