The 1099 B that the broker sent me for a stock sale had the sales proceeds, but not the basis, because the shares had been transferred from Compushare without the basis information. When I try to enter the basis manually, TT marks it as an override (this is in form 8949 with box E checked). But then TT refuses to efile my 1040 because of the override.
How can I enter the cost basis info and still efile?
