@nex "I will be able to deduct the HSA in retirement" - only contributions would be deductible and if you are covered by medicare no contributions would be allowed. if you are covered by medicare 80% of your medical doctor and hospital costs will be covered. with a medicare supplement the other 20%. with part D some drug costs. dental and vision are not covered unless you take out medicare type C. you cannot reimburse yourself for medicare premiums from your HSA.
of course no one can guarantee medicare will be around 30-40 years from now but on the other side no one knows what future tax law changes could affect HSAs.
