from what I've seen on this topic in this forum, Intuit introduced their licensing server in 2019 which is why it stops working at that point, and they only support activation of the current version and 3 prior years, so you should be able to get 2021-4 working, but have issues with 2019 & 2020. 2020 I was able to install and activate, but it fails to install state tax which is enough to prevent you opening the .tax file. Hopefully you have the full .pdf of your return saved for those years.
