@shanesnh , to me it is a discount and not actual income ( based on my earlier definition of income) no matter the actual workings.
Of course, if you choose to declare this as income for US purposes, and at current Won exchange of 1385 per US$ it is about $7 -- probably would not materially affect your US taxes. For many things like gifts received from vendors/ business there is a de-minimis about anywhere between US$25 and US$100 -- depending on facts and circumstances.
