This is a good point. Anyone that thinks that the IRS doesn't jump on a 1040X is wrong. I didn't include form 8962 and two months later - after I filed a 1040X - here comes a letter with the balance due. With interest. Do NOT wait for them to send you a letter saying you forgot 8962. For the IRS the clock starts ticking the minute they figure out you owe them money.
