Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Thank you, DoninGA, for the advice to call TurboTax Support. As I mentioned in my original post, I installed the latest TurboTax update, then tried to open an existing tax file, but TurboTax gave me an error message 190. That message said that while the fed tax return was on the computer, it needed to get my state return on it. When I selected the "click for solution" button, it seemed to show that TurboTax wanted to charge me $45 for a state program that I had already installed earlier in the year. After your (only) response, I decided to work through my worry about having to pay $45 for the state program. Fortunately, I was again able to open the initial tax file with the state return displayed. The problem is solved; I did not have to go through Support, but it leaves a nasty taste in my mouth about my having to download the state program again. The update should not have nixed that. I am still not sure that I will not be billed the $45. I have been a TurboTax user for 35 years.
