Please clarify whether you are using TurboTax Online or the desktop TurboTax software. Mike9241 thinks you are using TurboTax Online. VolvoGirl thinks you are using the desktop software.
The tag below your question says you are using TurboTax Online. But when you use TurboTax Online you don't download anything. You sign into your TurboTax Online account on the Internet through your web browser. If you are using TurboTax Online you have to use a separate account for each family member.
"Download" means transmitting a software installation file from TurboTax to your computer. If you are using the desktop TurboTax software you have to download the software and install it on your own computer. To use the installed software you click an icon on your computer screen. There is no tax information for anyone in the downloaded software file. When you save a tax return in the desktop software you create a tax return data file on your computer. You have to save each family member's tax return with a different file name.
