are you sure that the year it was applied to was 2024. that should be on the confirmation if you got one. otherwise, you may have to look up on the IRS website the year it was applied to.
what did your return show as owing or refund before you entered the payment. if it was zero then the 6758 was accounted for. that's why it's showing 6758 as a refund.
