In order to use those old NOLs from 2015 you have to first roll them into 2016, then 2017 and so on. You can't get a refund for any year prior to 2022 at this point and any year prior to 2018 is closed. So you will have to prepare 2016 and 2017 returns using the NOLs from each prior year even though they will only be for your records. Then you can prepare 2018 through 2023 using the NOL in each year carried forward even though you can't get a refund for 2018 to 2021. Then you will see what NOL you have left for 2022 and 2023 and that will allow you to apply for refunds for those years.
