Yes, you may be able to claim your daughter as a qualifying child if:
  • He is under 19, or a full-time student and under 24 years of age. There is no age limit if he is permanently and totally disabled.
  • He lives with you for more than half of the year (Temporary absences, like going to college does not count)
  • You provided more than half of his support for the tax year
  • You are the only person claiming him

If it is stating that you cannot claim her you will want to review the dependent information to make sure that all of the information was entered correctly. 

To review this information, follow the steps below:
  • Sign into your TurboTax online account
  • Click Take me to my return
  • Click the Personal Info tab
  • Click Edit next to the name of your dependent
  • You will then be asked a series of questions regarding your dependent.
