TSP (Roth vs Traditional)
Hello. I am an active duty soldier serving in the army and I invest in the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP). I am younger American and I make under 40k after taxes. Which option would you deem to be better for me tax-wise, Roth or traditional (currently it's traditional)? I have other investment accounts plus a separate traditional IRA outside of TSP. I use the contributions I make to the IRA as a way of lowering my capital gains taxes. I don't know if I'll be in the same tax bracket in 15-20 years and I'm not sure if my overall tax situation will change or not but should I which the TSP to Roth (since I already have a traditional IRA) or should I keep it as is? Would I have to switch it if my tax situation changes in the future or no? I'm just trying to determine what's optimal for me TSP wise, Roth or traditional. You advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
