No. You do not need to mail a federal return with your Massachusetts State returns. You should include the following however.
- W-2 forms from each employer
- 1099 forms (such as 1099-MISC, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, etc.) for additional income
- Proof of health insurance (1099-HC, 1095-B, etc.)
- Records of tuition payments and student loan interest (1098-T)
- Unemployment compensation statements (1099-G)
- Pension or annuity income statements (1099-R)
- Receipts for deductible expenses, such as medical costs, mortgage interest, and charitable contributions (if itemizing deductions)
- Additionally, if you are claiming tax credits or deductions, you may need supporting documentation.
