- Type "tax2023" (without quotes) into your Windows search bar.
- Press enter. If your preliminary 2023 TurboTax data file exists on your computer, the filename(s) will be presented in the resulting dialog box.
- Click on the option choice "Open File Location". This will open the directory folder that contains your TurboTax data file.
- Double-click on your data file to automatically open it with your installed TurboTax for 2023. It is the one with the file suffix ".tax2023"
