Get your taxes done using TurboTax

Thank you so much for your response!  Here's my dumb follow-up question:  Do I have to file a Minnesota state tax return (MN is the state she lived and worked in "temporarily" over the summer) or is filing the Illinois State tax return enough?

When I changed my answers in TurboTax to "full time resident in IL, but earned money in a different state," the Illinois tax due was reduced from $240 down to $40 or so.  I assume that's because IL has a higher state tax rate.  In any case, I'm fine with just filing the IL state tax return (along with Fed, of course!) and paying the $40 and calling it a day.  TurboTax charges me $45 to do MN as well and I'm wondering if I can just save this expense.  Of course, if I do NEED to file both IL and MN, I will do so!!  Thanks in advance, @MaryK4 !!
