Get your taxes done using TurboTax
I was able to e-file with Form 7206 on TurboTax Home & Business 2024 and federal return was accepted.
@DianeW777 TurboTax should update their listing to show that Form 7206 actually is supported for e-filing on Windows at least. And they should stop telling people they can't e-file with it when we can. The next issue is whether the information on Form 7206 meets what the IRS actually needs for it to be correct beyond the return simply being accepted. In many cases, TurboTax doesn't fill out the actual Form 7206 but puts a footnote at the bottom saying there is an adjustment for the marketplace premiums but that those premiums aren't shown on the Form 7206. This footnote is present when you look at Form 7206 in Forms mode in TurboTax, but if you print out a copy of your return the footnote isn't there. Does the IRS get the footnote or not in the version they see?
Clearly we're able to e-file on the desktop software with Form 7206 according to my experience and that of many others who have posted. And I'm sure in 99% of cases the IRS doesn't even look closely at the form. But it would be good to know if the form is indeed up to the standard the IRS wants so nobody has any problem later.
These issues regarding Form 7206 have been going on for years as you can see from multiple threads on this forum, including a very long one. Other software correctly fills out the Form 7206 perfectly. So I wish TurboTax will fix this completely for 2025 taxes.
